The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 - is in force (1st October 2006) and replaces most other current legislation (Fire Precautions Act and Workplace Regulations) and applies to everywhere except domestic property - so for the first time church halls, churches, scout huts, in fact anywhere needs the risk assessment for fire safety. Beware - do not get frightened by the scare tactics that will be used by many organisations warning you of the new law (eg. brail fire exit signs are not a requirement under Fire or DDA!!), it is not difficult to comply with and in some cases will need no expenditure. Insurance fraud, as you well know, is common and often Insurance Companies will set an arbitrary figure on the vehicle value before questioning the validity of the claim.
